About

Gillian is an interdisciplinary artist based on the unceded and traditional territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh first nations, known as Vancouver, Canada. She works primarily as a Lighting Designer and Production Manager in theatre and dance, but her other practices include installation work, writing, performing, and devising work across disciplines. She is interested in designing through the lens of design-led creation processes, sustainability in live performance, feminist theory, and finding joy through story telling.

She holds a BFA from the School for the Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University, in Burnaby BC. She graduated with distinction in the Theatre Production and Design program, with a minor in Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies.
